No.4: This flag was made for the Earl of Essex Regiment in the Sealed Knot. Not for portraying Essex’s regiment, but for playing a more generic regiment (a Scottish covenanter’s regiment I think) when recreating battles where’s Essex’s regiment was absent – as I recall, we’d also wear blue bonnets too! Alas, I have no photograph of this flag. |
