Bristol F.2B Fighter. 1/48th scale. This is the Eduard PROFIPACK kit which includes PE parts.
The kit is built out of the box, with the exception of the rigging wires. These are from a slightly elastic material used for quilting (and stolen from the wife!). The lines are held into pre-drilled holes with a Cyanoacrylate super glue.
The model is painted with Humbrol enamels on top of base coat of Games Workshop Skull White from a rattle can. The top colour for both top and under surfaces was done twice – the first coat applied slightly lighter, followed by a lot of masking of rips, then the application of a darker coat. The effect is to bring out the rib structure.
I won Wing and Regional ATC Staff Class competitions with this model.
The photographs below are not that good. I have the camera too close creating a ‘fish-bowl’ effect and loss of depth of field. When taking pictures of models I’d advise the photographer to have the camera further away and to crop the resultant images after they’ve been captured. Take a look at my amateur notes here.
